Class Homework to Include Mandatory Podcasting

The University of Vermont will launch a unique seminar this fall about Canadian culture — students will be given iPods preloaded with Canadian content (music, author readings, etc.) and will be expected to podcast and blog about their experiences.
Asst professor Dr. Paul Martin (Martin’s personal blog here) will also take the students on a field trip to Ottawa and expects to have a few audio lectures on the history of Ottawa and Canadian politics ready for listening on the bus trip north. All the students’ iPods will be equipped with microphones and they’ll be expected to podcast about their impressions of Ottawa whil there.
The seminar is a trial project for first-year students.
