McMaster Engineering Students Get Into PodCasting

Date: 4/28/2005
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- While its hoped that engineering students at Hamilton, Ontario's McMaster University won't be dropping out any time soon, they will most certainly be tuning in.

McMaster's faculty of engineering has launched a 20-minute podcast (dubbed 'Radio Fireball' after the faculty's fireball logo) centered around campus life at the university. The program features interviews with professors and students, profiles of faculties, audio tours of local attractions and music by bands from the area.

'We're talking to the download generation,' said Peter Smith, associate dean, Faculty of Engineering. 'Why not have the option to download information about education and careers the same way you can download music? It untethers content from the Web and lets students access us at their convenience.'

Four shows will be broadcast monthly starting on April 26th, 2005 from www.engpodcast.com.
