New iPods for music videos

Apple Computer is considering a new version of its wildly successful iPod that would play music videos, the Wall Street Journal has reported.
We can see where this is going... podcasting will be big for the next year or so but it's really just paving the way for a revolution in delivering video to handheld devices.
...Apple in recent months has started bundling a limited number of music videos with album purchases.

Building on that effort, Apple had approached the four major music companies, Warner Music Group, EMI, Universal Music Group and Sony BMG, to license music videos for sale through iTunes, the newspaper said.
The report noted that if Apple succeeded setting up a video-distribution service, it was likely to follow this with a portable hardware device capable of playing the content.
The bandwidth is getting there, the demand is there, the commercial pressure will be there - it's only a matter of time.
